August 2026: 14 cleanups, 90 bags and a community in action

In August 2026, the Un Sacco Pulito community documented 14 cleanups, collecting 90 bags with 6 active people or teams. Beaches, woodland, countryside, a lake, a river and an urban drainage channel all became part of the same practical effort, in Italy and beyond.

Available data documents at least 59.36 kg of waste across two cleanups; no estimated weight has been assigned to the remaining bags. In Porto Caleri, volunteers removed 18 kg including plastics, cans, bottles, a broken deckchair and boat-mattress padding. At Lago d'Arpy, 28 participants collected 41.36 kg and 250 cigarette butts.

The Ferragosto holiday required particular care at Lido di Volano. TV Verde acted on three consecutive days, including at night, to prevent party waste from being buried in the sand or carried out to sea. At Tricase Porto, Clean Up Tricase collected 13 bags and bulky discarded objects along the coast. Three separate actions in Porto Caleri added another nine bags to the month's map.

• August 21 — Folgaria, TV Verde: 1 bag along a drainage channel.

• August 22 — Lago d'Arpy, Summit Foundation: 25 bags and 41.36 kg.

• August 26 — Valmozzola, Gnoma Del Bosco: 10 bags collected along the provincial road and in woodland.

• August 28 — Pievepelago, TV Verde: 3 bags along a riverside route.

• August 29 — Modino, TV Verde: 2 bags along mountain roads.

The totals come from cleanups published on the portal during August. Kilograms are partial because twelve pages do not provide an explicit weight.
