October 2026: 9 cleanups, 178 bags and practical action in motion

In October 2026, the Un Sacco Pulito community documented 9 cleanups, for a total of 178 bags and 9 active people, teams or organisations. From coasts to trails, from cities to mountain areas, every entry records an action that was completed, photographed and shared.

An explicit weight is available for only one cleanup: at least 17 documented kg, recorded at Kandersteg-Oeschinensee. This is not a conversion from bags and does not represent the month's total weight: the other eight entries do not include a structured kg value. The Arcipelago di La Maddalena page also describes approximately six tonnes and more than 270 bags, but these are declared, approximate figures within that individual page, so they are kept separate from the calculated monthly total.

The month reached very different places and communities. In Vimodrone, Angeli dei Navigli organised a team-building cleanup with thirty Ricoh Italia employees and documented 30 bags. At Kandersteg-Oeschinensee, the final stop of Summit Foundation's 2026 Clean-Up Tour involved 54 volunteers: 17 kg of waste and 980 cigarette butts collected in the mountains. In the Arcipelago di La Maddalena, the entry describes a larger mobilisation across coasts and seabeds, involving local organisations and equipment.

The smaller cleanups complete the picture too: one bag containing many glass bottles in Popoli Terme, litter found along a Cervarezza Terme trail, and a rest area tidied in Lessinia. This continuity is what makes the impact visible: not an abstract gesture, but places left better than they were found.

All cleanups in October

The totals come from the cleanups published during the month on the official Un Sacco Pulito directory. Bags are added only when stated on an individual page; kg are partial and include only the one explicit numeric value.
