ERI India: a joint venture for electronics recycling
News - 28 October 2026
ERI and Ecoreco have announced ERI India, a joint venture for recycling end-of-life electronics, recovering resources and responsibly managing IT assets.
Electronic Recyclers International (ERI) and Eco Recycling Limited (Ecoreco) have announced a 50/50 joint venture to launch ERI India. The initiative is intended to combine ERI’s experience in electronics recycling and IT asset disposition with Ecoreco’s local infrastructure and market knowledge.
The project concerns end-of-life electronics, the recovery of valuable materials and IT asset disposition: the responsible management of computers, phones and other equipment when they leave use. It is a practical issue because these devices contain both recoverable resources and components that need careful treatment.
The agreement was presented as part of ERI’s expansion in Asia. The sources describe a plan to build local capacity, particularly relevant where rules restrict the import and export of electronic waste. This remains an industrial-development announcement: its impact should be assessed through operational results and the quality of the material streams actually managed.
Digital life does not end when a device is replaced. A credible circular system also depends on how its end of life is handled.
